The weather has been hot, bathrooms floors are usually linoleum or tile which helps the room temperature stay cool, particularly the floor temperature will always be cooler than the rest of the room, due to the fact that heat rises.
Your dog is just trying to keep cool. :)

Is your house very warm, he might be trying to find a place which is cooler to rest, the water and moisture in the bathroom might be cooling the air enough to make a difference, just a thought, might not be why at all

Is the floor tile or something? Maybe it's just cause it's cooler than the rest of the house or just because he wants to be alone.

If you have a tiled floor, he's cooling off.
We had a Chow that loved the marble floors of our house in Spain.

probably because you have a tile floor in there, and the lights usually are not on, so it's cool, dark and quiet - can you think of a better place to nap
