This is not normal. A response is an answer to your talk or question.
You have assumed a similar person accompanies you always .
Your talk is like a question and your own response is like an answer.
A question is one that you dont know the answer or you have the answer but not sure of it so that you put the question to get it confirmed through others, This is normal.
In your case you have preset your answer well in advance and stored it in the brain without your retrieval knowledge. When you wish to bring out the answer you ask question yourself and got the answer as if a rare activity. It is not so really. There is nothing wrong in it .
Some people have the habit of questioning themselves to bring out the answer from ones own brain.
When I was a student I had many such surprises. I read certain books in dreams which I didnot read before. When I went to library the next occassion, I surprised to note the same book on the rack and same pages which I had read in dream.
But later while I go through the records of books that I referred, I found such books were read by me already but was not in my quick memory.

If you mean you get a response from another entity, and not your mouth, then worry. If you have a little unspoken or spoken dialogue, no problem, BUT, if you ask somewthing aloud, like where's the peanut butter, and you get an audible answer that is not from your mouth, you need to get some antipsyschoticmedications right away dude! No kidding...hearing "real voices" that aren't real is pretty serious.

Talking to yourself is normal, getting a response is not. Hearing voices is a SIGN of Schizophrenia, Mania or some other illness for which I have no knowledge.
You say you are too insane to be locked up, unless you've been to one of those places, don't play. I hear it is quite a traumatic experience.

Yes that is normal. When i talk to myself I usually get more than one response, does that mean that I have multiple personalities? If so who should I listen to? I like me, but I like me and me also, whats a girl to do?

You're not insane. You are just the best person to answer the question when it's asked. I do the same thing. You're OK.

as long as it is giving you the answer you want - thats great
thats a vote of 2 - a majority
you only need to worry when the other 5 voices chime in to confuse it
