Interesting...

Let's assume that there is no nuclear activity, so it would have been Warsaw Pact vs. NATO. The WP had the advantage in terms of number of soldiers, tanks, and artillery. NATO would have air superiority and would dominate the seas (the key here would be that the US and USSR would be a naval draw, but nations such as Britain would have a bigger navy than say, Poland).

I think the key would be that the citizens behind the Iron Curtain probably would have severely disrupted military efforts by the WP leading NATO to victory.

the cold war was so because it really turned out to be a battle of facades, and the soviets could not have economically managed to actually fight in a battle against the US, hence they sat and ruffled their feathers, and were eventually technologically outproduced, being unable to maintain either high levels of economic output but more importantly lack of innovation, caused us to surpass them, even with dramatically lower populations,. this too is why it is very unwise to provide them which such technological assistance, their people are no different and could freely innovate these things if they weren't so controlled, collectivism is immoral and to provide them the means to further enslave their populace is wrong.
