No we are not. When we were created we were meant to live with God in heaven for eternity which in itself is a hard concept to grasp, but when man sinned we are now destined to go to hell. This is overturned by Jesus dying on the cross which saves us from hell if you accept him. Whether you accept Jesus or not you will not be alone, the only change is if you are happy and comfortable or uncomfortable and sad.

Not necessarily, but I think it's wise to know how to be strong and independant, whether you are alone or with a life partner. You should not depend on anybody so much that you would have no life of your own if they left.

Yes because you will be the only one looking the Grim Reaper in the face when your time comes. You can be surrounded by all your friends and family, but when it comes to judgement, it will you be you, the judger, and the scales that determine how you spend the afterlife.
