My neighbor has a 3 lb dog that looks exactly like a tiny German Shepard. They say the mother is a purebred Chihuia and they don't know what the father is but the puppies look like Mini-me German Sherards.
Wouldn't that kill the mother?
What breed of dog could this puppy be.? I am sure its not German Shepard but it sure looks like it.

I used to work in a very small town that was way out in the country. The people let their dogs run around loose, and I saw some of the strangest dogs there I have ever seen in my life. There were dogs that were shaped liked daschunds but heads like German shepards and were colored like Australian cattle dogs. You get the idea. I think it's possible for just about any two dogs to breed, as unlikely as it might seem.

It would be very unlikely the two dogs mated, a male Ger Shep would not be able to reach a Chi, and it is doubtful a male Chi would be able to preform a lock with a Ger Shep.
If the dog is only 3lb and is grown?????
It is a Chihuahua.
The Chihuahua breed come in a full range of colors,
They have black and tans, just like the hunting hound.
They have a black and white spotted, just like a Spotted Poland China Pig.
They have Merle colors, just like an Australian Blue Healer.
They have brindle's, just like the old brindle bulldogs.
For every color associated with a specific breed of dog (and most any animal) you can find a Chihuahua in that color or with the same marking pattern.

There are many dogs that could look like that. Yes a chi can mate with a German shepherd. The shepherd would have to be the female more than likely. We had a client come in with a Great Dane/Lhasa Mix....it just looked like a 60lb Lhasa lol

no i don't think that it would kill the mother... however a c-section is probably necessary.
i think you should do a little more research.
as for dogs that look like mini german shepherds... hmm... there's a type of dog (i think it has the word 'Swedish' in it's breed name) it is a bit like a corgi-sized and shaped however it's hair color and it's ears and some of it's facial features look a bit like a german shepherd.
