I walk and I see nice people passing me by on the street.I want to smile at those nice pairs of eyes but I'm afraid.Afraid of their reactions...People are too suspicious,they misunderstand such actions.

I smile at people all the time. It would be a better world if everyone did that.

I almost always do. The town that I grew up in was a really nice area, but the people who lived there were a bunch of snobs who looked at me like I was completely insane when I would smile or say hello to people walking down the street. I moved to the city I live in now, and I love it, even though I'm not in the greatest of areas. I can't walk down the street without having at least one person smiling and saying hi to me, and trust me, I get a nice feeling when it happens, even if I'm having a bad day.

I used to smile all the time. But I moved to a big city 2 years ago, and have gradually stopped. People here never smile back. Or they just look at me like I'm crazy.

I smile at people or say hello. I also thank people for holding the door etc. I think more people would do that if we were not so suspicious of everyone.

I live in a small town, so it's easy to smile at passers on the street.
Smiling is contagious.
We could all use a smile each day :)

yea smile its nice to smile , many ppl dont even smile these days and how cold is that , smiles are a welcomed thing in a world where nobody takes the time to be nice anymore

Yes, especially old people. A lot of them remember when strangers smiled at each other, and they miss it, so they do appreciate it a little more. They smile back!

Yeah, I feel the same very often when I want to smile to someone. You're absolutely right, people aren't ready to understand smth like that in a way we'd like them to. ;))
So I don't smile to people on the street...yet. ;))

I smile all the time,I do not even think about it.If there is eye contact I smile..it is a quick hello kind of thing. :)
