Olive Oil is the healthiest and it's not very high in calories when compared to Canola or Peanut oil. Use the extra virgin kind for a little more bland taste that won't affect how other foods taste. Vegetable oil is also pretty good and has the same amount of calories, just not as healthy!

When are trying to loose weight but more important health, choose good clean oils such as olive oil, canola oil, nut oils, and veg oils. The main item to remember is that you should not use this oils to fry in but as a flavour boost. Start by using a bit of veg/chicken stock to pan to heat , add meat or veg, then add a bit of oil to pan to coat the veg about tablespoon or so will go a long way. These oils change when used for frying and can harm the body. Hope this helps.

Canola or olive oil because they are very healthy oils. But eating less oil or any type is the only way to lose weight, because oils do not have different amounts of calories.

Olive oil, extra virgin. If you need to fry something, canola oil is recommended. The best bet would probably to spray it on lightly, or opt for a PAM situation, depending on what you need. Try increasing spices and steam/ bake foods. Some are great to eat raw with spiced yogurt!
Good luck... I am rooting for your weight loss( in the same boat)

Try extra virgin olive oil or canola oil. But if you find if rather expensive to use it on a daily basis try looking for cooking oil that is high in monounsaturated and free trans fat.Good Luck!

extra virgin olive oil - it's really so healthful for you. It gets hot much faster than vegetable or canola oil so really keep an eye on it when cooking - you don't want a kitchen fire!
Carapelli makes the best & it's available in many stores.

I've heard olive oil is the best, and is now available in a cooking spray so you use less of it--either Pam brand or I think Albertsons has a generic version. It has the good cholesterol and has more flavor. Though I also have heard it has more calories and fat than butter, it's concentrated so you use less.
