You need to explain your question better. If you mean are they good in power. Then yes. Nissans have some of the most reliable and most efficient engines and transmissions in the world. The VQ V6 which is standard on the Nissan Maxima and has been so since 1995 is the best and most awarded V6 engine ever. It is also available in the Infiniti G35, the Nissan Z and many other Nissans. The Ward Auto Magazine has awarded the Nissan V6 engine as the best V6 in the world, 11 years in a row. (From 1995-2006) I own two 1995 Nissan Maximas. They handle better and are more sportier than Honda Accords and Toyota Camrys. But they are not as reliable. I have had problems with the AC and the Power Windows. The CD player also has given me some problems. But the engine and transmission are great. One has 196,000 miles, the other has 103,000 miles. And they look sleek and sexy just as all the Nissans do. So if you are asking about the drivetrain (engine, transmission) then YES they are very good. But if you want to know if they are as reliable as Toyota and Honda, then the asnwer is no. Nissans are generally great cars. I own an Infiniti (built by Nissan) and it's been great to me. Reliability rankings for Nissans are generally much better than average, and rank very high compared to most other vehicles.
However, the recent reliability of US built Nissans has been suspect. The full size Pick-up and the large Infiniti SUV were hit pretty hard with very poor reliability. I think they've since corrected the issues at their US plants, but it may still be something to watch out for.

I really think, overall, Nissans are good cars. Our family has always had nissans and hondas and never once have we had a single problem. My mother has a 2006 Nissan Altima and is IN LOVE with it after finally trading in her 1990 Nissan Sentra! Best of Luck.

Yep, all the Nissan's our family owned lasted forever! Great cars,
on my list of top 3 most reliable car companies. Our old Pathfinder had 450,000 miles on it, until a huge truck hit us at 70 mph :(. Nissan's are great, even after that we came out with just aches and bruises.

I just bought my third Nissan and I believe I wont own any other car brand as long as I am driving. Nissan offers the best combination of performance, reliability, and efficiency.

Absolutely. I have a '93 Nissan Pickup. I have put nearly 200,000 miles on it and she still runs great. Granted, once a truck gets that old it gets a little 'tired'. In 11 years I've only had to do routine maintenance and replace the computer. That cost me $200. Not bad for 11 years of faithful service to an owner who sometimes abuses you. (I found out that little truck can actually haul 2000LB of gravel!!!)

The new ones aren't as good as the older Nissan's, overall I would recommend getting a Toyota, Honda or Subaru.
