Why in the world did you apply for the job if you were still in school and planning to continue? I'm guessing you 1.) didn't think you'd get the job or 2.) didn't want to finish college in the first place.

So, what's the deal? Do you need the money for college? Are you hoping to get a degree in something to better your life? Are you in a position where you can take night classes? What are your goals? How can you best reach your goals?

You seem like a smart enough sort of kid. You seem to write fairly well -- which is a lot to say on this site. I don't know what you were thinking when you went for the job.

I'd say to go for the education. It only gets harder down the road. Talk with the people who hired you and tell them you've decided to finish your education. Maybe they'll have a place for you in management when you finish school.

Well, look at it this way. Is the Union job something you want to do for the rest of your life? If it is, go for it, but remember, it may not last forever. An education will. I would also like to remind you that the longer you stay away from school the harder it is to go back. I know that from experience. If nothing else, do this job for awhile and go to school at a later time. You will earn money that could help you with school, but don't forget it all together.

i understand what your going through its really hard first you have to ask yourself do you want this job bad enough to x out your education or get it done first then do this union job but the job might still be there but if you get a little more education maybe you can make a great deal of money not trying to make a decision for you but see if you can do both and if you really have to choose do what you think is right for you matthew it is your life but hopefully you wont regret anything later on down the line good luck.

I think you should go to college and get a part time job if you need to. You will be able to make much better money long term with a college degree than without one. Good luck!!

is it really what you want to do? don't take it just because of money. if you think you'll learn more by finishing school and getting a decent degree which in turn would result in a good job then i say pass on it. but if you need the money in order to finish school then i understand why you'd want to drop out. but money isn't everything, especially without a degree.
