No. Stealing is wrong no matter what your reason is for doing it.

LOL!! OMG, I was gonna post a similar question.. It's like watching your brains slowly atrophy .. and worse.. I cannot STAND almost everyone here... I been spending my time on this yahoo answers and sending out my resume..

Here, the lady who 'tracks' the supplies sits across the isle from me- and she watches the supply room like a hawk.. swoops down anytime anyone is in there:

"WHAT DO U NEED???" Then she will attempt to find what u need- and go through all the damn items again and again- explaining everything..
So u basically have to sneak in there if u don't want to endure that..

Also... what's more fun- at least here- because of 'SupplyNazi'
I like to put stuff out of order.. (move the post-its to the other cabinet... mix up the colors..) Put the highlighters on the bottom shelf... and mix up the pens and pencils.. U should see her then..

Sigh.. offices DO suck.

Don't steal because you're bored! That's crazy! If you really need a few good pens, pencils and highlighters, then casually put it in your pocket when nobody's paying attention.

However, when you start getting away with the small stuff, you might graduate to larger stuff like 8.5 x 11 copy paper. (Trust me, those things are a bit trickier to walk out of the office from.)

My point is this: if you can get away with the small stuff like pens, fine, nobody's going to go berserk over it. Watch out for the big-ticket items though.

Uh, clearly you are not working hard enough since you're on here too. Perhaps you could try taking some initiative in your job and advancing your career? Clearly that isn't going to happen based on the question, so the answer is no, it isn't a good idea. First, because you'll get fired when they figure it out and second, because it is immoral and illegal. Get a grip. Perhaps you could try actually reading a book?

I think you've got a slightly larger dilema than being bored at the office. But I think this question might give you something to do.

Think about this: What's keeping you from stealing things everyday? Well, because it's wrong. But why? Why is it wrong? Who says it's wrong? What does "wrong" even mean anyway? Next time you're bored and thinking of snatching a pen, try to think where you get your definitions of right and wrong. What are your absolutes? Email me your definitions of right and wrong, and I'll email you some more stuff to think about.

Boredom is a terrible thing. Just think how bored you'll be staying home all day after you're fired for stealing.

I would,

Start with petty theft and work your way up. Temporarly stealing can be fun too. When you feel like You have worked your way up to the pro's, take the bosses car for a ride, but return it, grand theft auto is a little more serious then petty theft.

That is the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time.....I think you know the answer yourself....

If you need a thrill, do something good for someone, volunteer for an organization.

Better yet, add to the supplies and do more than what your asked to do, that way you will be busy all the time and having fun doing your job. You may even get promoted!
