I think there's something about it I don't like, I'm not sure though.

I absolutely can't stand it after talking to someone and then they in closing use this phrase. Its beyond rude and irritating. I have had people I hardly know say it and its not as bad but when I actually know the person and they say that I think of it as an insult and I will never talk to them again. I just had lunch with my associate the other day and I really did it for her because she wanted someone to sit with and I was swamped at work...so at the conclusion I said "Ok, I'll talk to you later." meaning another day or time and she comes back with "take care!" ...That's it ...I'm done, I'm just an associate now. No more lunches.

If someone says "take care" or "wish you the best" at the end of the conversation, it feels like "good bye". In my opinion, it means that they have no interest in ever seeing or hearing from you again.

I have always hated that phrase coming from certain people. Especially someone you are on the verge of breaking up with. If they say 'take care' at the end of the conversation, I cringe. In my opinion, it means they don't care what happens with you in the future.

I like it and use it a lot. Because I mean it. I want the person I'm saying it to to actually "take care".

There was this one person that always told me that at work and I barely even knew that person! But I would be like, oh that's nice that a person would actually say that to someone at all. ^_^

It depends on the one who says it .. if i love him/her and know that he/she loves me and really mean it .. i will be very happy when hearing it ! becoz it makes me feel that i am really important to him/her !! On the other hand, i hate it when said by other people becoz i feel that they think that i am not careful or aware enough !!!

I like it it, it usually means that they care enough to wish you the best for yourself until you meet again : )

I don't use it (or the equivalent in my native language, Spanish: Cuidate). But I'm not mind it, because I know they mean well.

No I don't hate it. It is a pleasant way for someone to tell you to take care of yourself and wishing you well.
