All the instructions seem to assume I have VCR too, which I do not. I have a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8000 set-top box and plain old DVD player and TV.

Youre probably going to need an RF Conversion box/switch. You can buy them at Radio Shack for about 20$. You plug everthing into the RF box and then run RCA component cable to your TV's RCA inputs. Ka-Boom!

I am guessing since you don't have a VCR you have a S-video cable.

The cable will run from the coax on the wall to the cable in port on the digital box, to the cable in on the back of your tv. You should then be able to hook up your TV to your DVD player using the s-video cable. Should get you a clear picture.

If you still have trouble, call your local cable provider for troubleshooting. That is what they are paid for. :)

on my tv's I have the DVD player hooked up through the audio/ video cables ( the red and white ones) the cable box hooked up to the TV through the cable jack..when you want to watch a movie with the DVD player just use the menu option for either aux. or vcr/dvd ( whichever it would be on your tv)

Buy a splitter and take the coax cables from wall to cable box to splitter to television and from dvd to splitter to television.

Or go coax cable to cable box to television and rca cable from dvd to television.

Or go coax cable to cable box to television and s cable from dvd to television.

It depends on the number of inputs on your television and the number of tuners you have in your television.

The 300 ohm input is for the coax. The The red white and yellow inputs are for rca and the blue input is for s-video. If you have red blue and green you have component capability and use that for your dvd player though it may work with your digital box as well. If you want to use it for both get some splitters and read both signalls into te television like before. If you have problems, drop the splitters and buy a switch to allow you to chose your signal.

If all else fail go to a Radio Shack and ask them to map it out for you. Other stores will want to come to your place and charge you for the service.

it is conceivable and straightforward.purchase a gadget called R F Modulator from Walmart/proper purchase/Circuit city and so on.It expenditures you around $ 20 .connect your DVD in the back of this modulator utilising Yellow, purple & White cables.Take one greater coaxial cable (the type which you're utilising suitable now for connecting television to cable sign) connect it to modulator output and the different end to the television.. Merry Christmas!
