Alright my 7 week old kitten never stops crying. She always wants to be on your lap and you can pick her up and put her on the floor or in her bed 100 times and she'll just run right back up to you and jump on your lap, and if you dont let her she crys. And when you go to get up to walk somewhere she climbs up your pant leg, and hangs on as your walking around the house. is there anything i can do to get her to stop? I've tryed a spary bottle so when shes bad, i spray her. but she doesn't seem to understand. And when i put her down i feel bad. help?

a 7 week old kitten is very, very small. everything is scary to her cuz everything's so big. she finds comfort being close to you. she doesn't want to be by your feet because you look intimidating that way, she wants to be by your face to communicate with you. be grateful that your cat chooses to come to you for comfort instead of hiding. and although you should train pets early in life, 7 weeks is a little young. also cats are completely different from dogs. using a spray bottle will only completely scare them of all water and anything that looks like a spray bottle. to calm your cat down, one day try laying on the floor with her. and let her sip on some milk. milk is bad for an adult cat's health, so don't keep giving your cat milk, or a great amount. just lay down with your kitten and give her a couple of teaspoons of milk to sip on, this will calm her. and then just relax with her some more. also, let your cat sleep with you if at all possible. let her get used to everything, then force her to sleep in a bed.

A seven weeks she is VERY young! The fact is it would have been better, and easier on her if she could still be with her mother for a few more weeks. Since this isn't an option she's looking at you as "mom" and she craves the security you offer her.

The good news is that she's growing up fast and soon she will likely be far more independent. Also, as she grows the special bond she is forming with you now will likely pay off with her feeling especially close to you all her life.

In the meantime just be paitient, give her all the love you can, and DO STOP SPRAYING HER! She's too young to understand things like that.

Oh and don't forget to have her fixed when she's old enough. 4-6 months old should do it.

She's clearly scared and needs comfort and security, and she's literally BEGGING you for it. And you're squirting her for being affectionate????

You adopted a baby. That's what she is. Realize if you have ONE 7 week old kitten, that she's a tiny baby and has been removed from everything she has known -- which isn't much thus far -- and she's all on her own. Of COURSE she's scared!!!You didn't say how long you'd had her, so that makes a difference, too. Try holding and cuddling and petting until she falls asleep, then VERY GENTLY lay her down without waking her and go about your business until she wakes up. Kittens sleep a lot.

At this age, everything is about love and bonding, comfort and security, and growing.

I have had 23 cats in my life time and kittens are just attention hungry. They just like to be loved and held. Its normal for kittens to do this and most of them grow out of it. Although some dont they are not as bad when they grow up. When I had cats I would put it on my shoulder and take it every where. They seemed to be happy that way. Although the first few times you do this there will be some hanging on with claws but hey a little clawing never hurt for too long.

Make a little hammock out of a shawl put the kitten in and carry it around, like you would do with a baby. Or get another cat for company. She will grow up and go her own ways but at 7 weeks shes just to young to be alone.

First off - STOP spraying a 7 week old kitten. They are literally babies and they don't understand. She is growing up, but at this age she will bawl a lot. You're going to just have to get used to it. I've had 10 cats over the years and they all cry, even when paid attention to a lot. I am very affectionate with my animals, but when they are babies - they will cry.

Your kitten is scared and misses its mommy. The best thing you can do is reassure it, give it some milk as a distraction, and wait. The curiosity factor will kick in in a few weeks, and she'll start to loosen up.

LUCKY!
My kitten always hides from me. We only see her if she wants to eat or use the litter box. She comes out a little at night, and likes to be pet then, but other than that it's like we don't even have a kitten.

If the kitten was taken away from the mother before 8 weeks old, it was too early.

She's very young and insecure. I suggest you pick her up and hold her as much as possible! When you can't hold her, give her a large stuffed animal to cuddle with. I used to put my cat in my pocket and carry him everywhere. He's very well adjusted now because of it.
