Ways to graciously breakup with a guy?

But we hardly ever see each other in person

The reason I want to break up isn't because we never see each other. I'm just saying should I wait until we do see each other or do I Email him since we do it every day. not to mention I've already tried once.

just say u dont think its working and u want to concentrate on school work( college atc ) or work so u need to have free time to concentrate and have no distractions thinking about him but u would still like to be friends

sit down be honest and truthfull say that u never see each other and u should have a break and the reasons why u wanna break up for
ur choice hope it helps ( p.s remember the longer u hold it off for the harder it will be to call things off so do it asap ) ( also do it face to face if possible doing it over a txt / email is a wimps way out and makes u look very bad for not having the guts to tell him in person he will prefer it that u were honest with him and to tell him to his face he may be a bit upset at 1st but he will later realise that u are a good person for handleing it that way rather than sending a txt or email it may put a wedge between you ifu do it that way

Well if you hardly ever see each other in person, then I would write a nice letter and mail it to him telling him you don't think it will work out between you guys, and you have had a change of heart, and you want to try dating other guys a while and be on your own...
You don't have to say anything nasty, just that you want your own space and time...

Simply call him on the phone and tell him it is not working out for you. Tell him you would still like to be friends but you want to see other people. When a man breaks up with a woman it should be in person, when a woman brakes up with a man, it should be over the phone.

Well, be gracious but no need to offer up all kinds of information. Be respectful by keeping it short and simple. guys appreciate that. We women want a long drawn out conversation!

Say something like "listen, I'd like some time alone, apart from a relationship, to do some growing and reflecting. I really care about you but i need to do this for me. I hope you can understand and accept my decision".

well that should make it easy...just be as gentle as possible, don't make him feel undesireable or like he's not worth being with just tell him the situation isn't working for you, that you want to be with someone that you can spend in person time with but you think he's a great guy blah blah blah..you get the idea
