Not. Refrigeration is just not necessary if you store your dry goods in air-tight cannisters with a bay leaf or two. It will stay fresh for a year or more. You just have to invest in really good cannisters, the kinds with rubber seals and airlocks.

Sugar should never be refrigerated. The moisture will harden it.

Keep Flour, Cornmeal, and Brown Sugar in the freezer. This will keep bugs out of the dry goods, and the brown sugar won't dry out. It will harden, though, but a few seconds in the microwave softens it right up. Keep it in a zip lock bag, and not the original.

The above answers are correct-refrigeration isn't necessary for flour, cornmeal, etc., however they will keep longer that way. If you have bulk, the freezer may be your best bet.

You don't need to keep them refrigerated. Just out of the sun and sealed - ziplock bags will do it. Plastic containers will do it too.
