I understand people who are enthusiastic and emphatic about their faith, but why do they sometimes feel it's their mission to preach the word of GOD to those who do not care to hear it? Why is it that these types cannot simply live their life according to what they believe to be right and good, while allowing others to to live theirs?

What makes a person fanatical is insecurity. They are scared to death because deep down they know their religion makes as much sense as worshipping monkey turds. So do they gather their courage and proclaim the preacher wears no clothes? No, they scream louder to drown out the doubts and recruit others to reinforce the decision they've made.

It's funny the pain some people will go through to avoid discomfort.

Go into all the world teaching them all things baptizing them in the name of the father, son and holy ghost Matthew 28. Also Jesus says after the message has been preached in all the world as a witness then the end will come, so I guess we are anxious to get to heaven and therefore we want the message out as a witness so everyone can say that they got it whether they want to accept it or not they have free will. No body is beating anybody to accept it, YET!

Why do atheist fanatics feel compelled to preach to me and tell me I'm a fanatic, there is no God, and my religion is a fairytale. Many people tell me this when I don't care to hear their opinions either.

To answer your question, why do people preach to those who don't care? I feel it is because they think they have an idea or something they feel is better than yours and want to share it. People do this regardless of whether they are religious or not.

(1) Because the Bible tells us to.

(2) This is Yahoo answers, so when someone asks a question that has to do with a specific Christian topic: How else would you expect a Christian to respond?

(3) Sometimes, what unbelievers consider 'preaching' isn't actually preaching.

For instance: I'm not preaching right now.

God Bless.

I agree. It should be more lead by example instead of preaching when what they're preaching isn't what they're even praticing.

I love how Christians can preach to you on second, and you catch them smoking and cussing up a storm and talking about the next girl on their "to-do" list.

Very sickening.

Religious fanantics!...Really!....First of all, believers are commissioned to share the Gospel with other's if they want to hear it!....Why are you GOD-HATING FANATICS Logging On A Religious/Spiritual Site?....Just to be disrespectfull and stir up strife!....The evidence shows that this is all you heathens are good for!....Preach to your own kind...believers don't want to hear your foolishness & hatered toward God & His servants!...You need to learn how to respect spiritual authority!..

To put it simply. We are told to in the bible.
Who is allowing you not to live your life?
It could be that God is talking to you and you still refuse to listen.

The Great Commission

"And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen"

Matthew 28:18-20

I think it is interesting that people sometimes go to a category called Religion and Spirituality and get put off when other people preach to them. Look, anyone who goes there kinow what is going to happen.

Because God is good, all the time...but don't look at me look at Him!! The Bible does say to preach the word to all nations. Jesus even says this, If you are ashamed of me before men, I will be ashamed of before my Father in Heaven. Peace
