The death toll for American soldiers in Iraq now stands at 2,517. The number of Iraqis who have died as a result of the US occupation is unknown but a study done over a year and a half ago by the British medical journal The Lancet estimated the number of civilian casualties at 80,000 to 100,000. The all poweful puke poor USA should be ashamed.

i think its a difficult issue. i think that we are in the war for the wrong reasons, but i think the war is necessary. the us being on a different continent than most major wars has always been torn between getting involved and isolationism. we dont always make the right call. i think that the people in iraq and the surrounding regions needed help. needed military assistance. not to make way for democracy or any of that crap. but because of massive human rights violations. thats not why we got into the war of course, but its certainly a beneficial side effect. the us didnt get into WWII to liberate the concentration camps, and stop the slaughter of innocent people all over europe, but again, a positive side effect. so maybe it doesnt matter what reason we go in for, as long as the right thing gets done. the civilian casualties are appalling. but they are mostly due to the iraqi insurgency. of course the iraqi insurgency would not have happened if we hadnt gotten involved, because their aims were being accomplished by saddam hussein. and they'll be there when we leave. i dont know that the middle east is actually a good place for democracy. they evolved differently than america and europe. they may require a different form of government. in the end i dont care. the people will decide, and it will be bloody and violent, as it always is. most really important decisions are. but i think its probably time we got out. but as long as we helped people who needed it, maybe its not such a bad thing we got involved. and before you ask, yes i believe that our next stop should be darfour, and the other places in africa where appalling genocide is taking place. it seems we cant win. some countries tell us to mind our own business. others ask us where the hell we were when they were in trouble. like i said. its complex. i dont think theres a right answer.

no we don't feel ashamed. Some liberal POS people who don't have a life I'm sure are. And if there where that many casualties did that little medical journal factor in all of the suicide bombers who are blowing up their own people. Because I'm pretty sure that the Americans (US) didn't kill that many people. I'm glad that we went in there. You little British people can say whatever you want about us. But while your military is over there having tea breaks people like my husband are defending our country. I don't give a damn if you don't support the war. You don't have to support it at all. Us Americans will just sit back and watch next time when you guys have a terror attack. Maybe we wont even bail your *** out this time. hmm sounds good to me.. Then maybe you would care.

If u asked this question before we invaded Iraq, I would say yes; but it's too late now.

It's not the time to argue if we should be in this war, to invade Iraq, because we already did. It's not the time to argue whose fault it is, who bring us into this war, that wont bring our fallen brothers and sisters and those innocents back. That's why there is no true glory in wars. Now, it will be very irresponsible and truly ashamed of if we backed down from the situations in Iraq.

What we probably should do now is to support our troops in Iraq and pray for them. If u consider this as a way of supporting war, I think every US citizen should be proud of by doing that.

The time we should think and AGAINST war is before sending those american sons and daughters to the war, not after, but we already made the decision, so we stick with it as we always do.

Actually I'm Ashamed of panty waists like you who have never stood for anything but their own skin & sipping on Starbucks. And your 100,000 casualties number is bullshit. Hell, the damn Tsunami didn't do that good a job!

We have made the lives of these people better in the long run. It takes time, money & yes blood. They are free of Saddam, have started the first Democracy in the region, and are fixing their infastructure. I guess we should have left Europe to the wolves in 1945 and skipped the Marshall plan. Christ, you cowards make me sick...

The 80k to 100k that have died most were killed fighting or just believing in a new Iraq a free Iraq so I would count them with the men and the women of the red. white and blue. They are fighting for their freedom and their lives.

If you had a clue about what was going on you would have not said some thing a uninformed as you did.

Go see America: Freedom to Fascism. http://freedomtofascism.com. It opens nationwide in theatres on July 28th. It is written and directed by the guy that produced "Trading Places" with Eddie Murphy and Dan Akroyd.

Depends on their reason for supporting it. If they thought Iraq had something to do with 9/11, then yes they should be ashamed.

I'll never be ashamed of supporting the war, I don't like war! but I'm not going to be the type of person who asks stupid questions ALL THE TIME that are making fun of
A) Bush
B) the war
C) the troops
I think the people who do are disgraces to themselves, and I feel sorry for them.

God Bless!!

Well, I'm part of the USA and I'm not ashamed, but then again I didn't send anyone anywhere. I don't know if we should be ashamed, maybe we should. Personally, if they would give me one GOOD reason why we are over there (apparently we're not trying to find osama any more) I would support them.

If people don't want to die at war then they shouldn't sign up for the army. And plus, it's not Bush's fault that they are dying, it's the sick minded people who think it's okay to blow themselves up in the middle of the streets of Baghdad.
