It is physically impossible to lose fat from just one part of the body. Your body has a pre-set map that determines where it is going to hold fat.
So...your best bets are (and these presume you are doing a good ab workout anyway):
1. Cardio. start running, burn fat...
2. Eat smart...as little junk as possible
3. Drink plenty of water...flushes out fat and excess water..water retention will also hide your abs
And..if all that works, you at a lean, fighting weight and overall muscular, and you still have that layer....liposuction!
Just be sure you've tried the rest first. Surgery carries substantial risk so don't go that route unless you have no choice.

Honestly the best way to do this within a month or two would be to begin an aerobic exercise program. Do a lot of running and cardio workouts, combined with crunches, flutter kicks, and maybe a Pilates' workout. To make it even faster, if you aren't sensitive to caffeine or have high blood pressure; you can use HydroxyCut Hardcore. This is a thermogenic supplement you can get from GNC Nutrition Centers, for about $45. Thermogenic means it heats up the core of your body, meaning that you get a lot more fat burning from your exercises. My friend is on them currently and dropped 10 lbs. in two weeks. Make sure you talk to your doctor first though.

Short of surgery, there is no way to remove fat from a specific area of your body. To reveal your six pack you're just going to have to lower your overall body fat percentage.
