I did when I was a child, but then I grew up. I think it's a bunch of fairy tales.

Belief is a personal thing, and you have the right to believe what you want. Remember, you are responsible for your beliefs and for communicating them to others. There is this thing called faith, accepting as true what you have not seen or cannot possibly prove. The Bible must be taken in its entire context, and not dissected into itty-bitty pieces and then judged. God is at work throughout the entire process from Genesis through Revelation. Each book of the Bible is connected to all others. A particular passage when taken by itself may very well seem fantastic and impossible to believe, but when analyzed as one part of the whole your point of view might change radically. This is a good question to ask and am glad to respond to it. Keep reading your Bible and feel free to ask questions. Jesus loves you and he talks to you through God's word. I encourage you to STUDY the Bible and not just read it. The words per minute that you read is of no importance. It is comprehension of God's word that matters.

Yes, every last one of them. And you will be shocked at how well they actuall do pan out.

There have been cities and kings mentioned in the Bible that for years were thought to be wrong, but newer archaelogocial finds prove their existence. Topographical layouts once thought to be invalid have proven to be true as secret mountain paths are found through exploration. Many Biblical places and names of cities have been kept over the years Jerusalem, for example). The Torah (first books of the Old Testament) is the beginnings of three major religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam).

Saying "they don't pan out at all" is a very, very incorrect statement.

How is that? They all point to real world events that happened and cities that existed. Scientist are now even finding out more and more that the cities that exist in the Bible were all real at basically the same time periods listed. The stories of the Bible are real because even Jesus himself mentioned them while he was on earth, like in Matthew 24 he speaks that near his second coming it will be like Noah's day with the flood and also Sodom and Gomorro. They are not stories they are historical facts that you have the option of believing or not believing but I do hope you will and also test the Bible for yourself.

After analyzing the Bible in the light of history and archaeology, writer Werner Keller said in the introduction of his book The Bible as History: "In view of the overwhelming mass of authentic and well-attested evidence now available, . . . there kept hammering on my brain this one sentence: 'The Bible is right after all!'"

Today the Bible can be read in whole or in part in some 2,200 languages-far more than any other book!

"All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work."-2 Timothy 3:16, 17.

Archaeologist William Albright stated: "The profound moral and spiritual intuitions of the Bible, which form a unique revelation of God to man through the channels of human experience, are just as true today as they were two or three thousand years ago."

The book of Genesis reveals the start of the human family-names and all. On this subject no other work of history is so specific.

Yes! We can believe what the Bible says.

They do, you have to look at it as a child of God, through Gods eyes, this world is not our true resting place, this is where we make our choice on which road we choose to take, if we accept Jesus Christ as our savior and repent of our sins asking forgiveness we will go on the eternal road to heaven, if we keep looking at it as though we are people of this world and seek doubt looking through it with blind eyes, there is no way we can go somewhere we don't believe in. Try studying the bible and reading between the lines more, and if the world could be here, why couldn't any of these things happen. Everything we eat, drink and have, are all miracles created by God as well as the air we breathe. Look at how God designed us..

Yes, all the "stories" are true. Who are we to question God's methods of communicating His thoughts to man? God used many different ways to get His point across to stubborn, rebellious people. A donkey talked, an ax head swam, a baby floated down the Nile and most important...a Savior rose from the dead. What is more difficult to believe is what is written today in most media. I'll stick with God's "stories!!"

I believe in miracles so yes I do believe in the Bible fully and completely. Our different interpretations of the Bible with all the translations into various languages is what I do not always believe.

For the umpteenth time, the Bible was written by humans inspired by God or the vision they had of him/her. Some of the books in the bible are fictional, some are poetic, and some others have histric facts in them, specially in the New Testament.
Most of what you get from the Bible is brought on to us by faith and personal belief and experiences. Not to be taken literally.

the stories in the first part of genesis were already ancient by the time genesis was written. they probably came down orally before the first ones were recorded, like the flood story in the babylonian epic of gilgamesh.
you see, these stories were about the beginnings of civilization and were older than our known, recorded human history.
after thousands or even hundreds of years these oral tellings get embellished numerous times. this is how real mythology is created. mythology, however, has as it's basis fact, somewhere in the distant past.

some people do, for whatever reason. but you're right, many of the stories are wildly ridiculous.

and by the way, it's not very intelligent to deliberately misconstrue someone's question because they accidentally omitted a vowel. you obviously understand what they really meant, or else you couldn't make a joke out of the misspelling. you don't appear clever, despite what you may think.
