You are the same height that I am, it's not a problem. Your fighting style will be different than a tall person, that's all. My screen name is the nickname that my fellow karate-ka gave me. MightyMite Rank-Nikyu Have fun!

You'll do fine.

My 11 year old son is only 65 lbs. and as tall as other 7 year olds. He has taken Karate for 6 years and his favorite sparring partner is a 6'4" 18 year old 250 lb. second degree black belt.
My son is so agile and fast that he will move in and strike before a good defence can be put up.

Just remember that good fighting distance is different for shorter people. You need to move in closer to the bigger people to make good contact. Sure they can hit you too, but not as hard as you can hit them. It takes time to getting used to steping into someone bigger than you, but it works.

Have fun and don't worry about it.

Your height will have little or no impact on your learning martial arts. The only thing that is affected is your reach.

Take judo. Your height will be a benefit. Because you are lower to the ground, you have better leverage to throw people.

Enjoy.
