I want to embed font inside a Java applet. Recently I found an applet in another site in which the characters were saved as a gif file and kept along with the class in the jar file. Can someone tell me how to do it? Any help is much appreciated.

First of all thanks for the answer. But I think my question appeared unclear to you. What I want to know is how to use an font file packed within an applet and what is the format of the font to be used. Can I use a True Type Font file?

Unless your developement tool has another way of doing this. Here is the Sun prefered way.

You must specify the Main-Class: in the Manifest File!
