Since I have to choose between these choices and only these choices, I would quickly choose the murderer rotting away in prison who believes in Jesus, for through Jesus they will be forgiven.
It sucks that your example had my child having to kill someone though.

Personally, I think that any "old school christian" could tell you that if you train up your child in the way he should go even when he is old he will not depart from it. I'm sure that any parent, given this rediculous choice, christian, buddist, hindu, jewish, atheist,or whatever other "old school religion" you choose would tell you they would raise their child to know right from wrong and then deal with the choices that child made as they came along. No one dreams for their child to be either a leather queen homo or for the child to rot away in prision(and God knows it's not safe to live in San Francisco) . While it's fantastic that some murderers proclaim to "believe" in Jesus what is important is the repentance of sin. Even Satan "believes" that Jesus died for our sins. That doesn't mean he's going to heaven all that means is he knows something happened. To be saved you must repent and truly feel remorse for your wrong doings. Not just one or two but all of them. Most importantly, to know that without the sacrifice that God and Jesus gave to the world (God sacrificing his only begotten son and Jesus willingly sacrificing his own life and soul) that we don't have a chance to beat the obstacles that we will be faced with in this life let alone whatever comes after. Let us also remember that ONLY GOD knows a person's true heart. Judge not Lest ye be judged. This is something that christians need to remember especially when it comes to their own children.

He could also become a murderer rotting away in prison thats also a non-believing leather queen homosexual living in San Francisco.
you suggest the one but not the other.
it shows hat you are missing the big picture, only the part you choose to see.

There are "old-school" Christians out here who believe that God judges our acts and sins (both of omission and commission). Only He knows the heart of the leather queen and the murderer, and only He knows what will happen.
I have many friends who are gay and lesbian, and I do not presume to judge them - Not my Job! I have many friends who are of other faiths. I do not presume to judge them - Not my Job! All of these people are very dear to me, good people who live, love, and go through life as best they can.
This is one "old-school Christian" who doesn't know where gays are going - it's not my job. I choose to leave it up to the One who taught us that He will be the only Judge at the end of days.

I am shocked that a single person would rather hve their child grow up to be a murderer than a gay atheist. Shocked.
This fairy tale has gone far too far when people would rather have their flesh and blood locked away after taking someone's life than have a happy gay kid.
It's the twenty-first century. It's time for this madness to end.

If my Child ever became any of those it would be very heartbreaking.. Now to choose I couldn't.. If they were one, my only hope is that from my praying and believe they will Change, that they would and that they would come back to God.. It says in the bible, teach a child in the way the should go and in the end they will not depart from it..

that's a dumb question...
Lots of people believe in Jesus, but yet refuse to follow him.
Many people admitt he existed, and probably was God's Son, but the refuse to live by his teachings; thinking, that they're out of date/don't apply to this generation/ redundant.
So my choice: Neither.
I'd rather my child be taught the truth, and then would "choose" on his/her own accord that they will 'apply' it to their life. Salvation, and Christian living go hand in hand - AND are very personal.
Believing (as the way you refer to it) is one thing...Agreeing to follow is another!
What will you do with Jesus?

That my child would not be confused about who he/she is. The saddest thing for a parent is for their child to go through an identity crisis. I believe in Jesus and if you don't read the book of John in the bible and it will explain about who He is.

I know you won't but I challange you to read the Gospel of John then post your question. Might have a different take, or may be not. Choice is all yours.

Believing in Jesus won't get you heaven. You have to love him enough to live your life for him and keep him 1st. There will be plenty of people that "believe" in god that go to hell.
