I don't think it's that big of a deal either. Whether Jesus was married or not changes nothing for me. And it seems to make more sense that he was with Mary all the time if she was his wife, I always found it odd that he hung out with a prostitute. I think Catholics see sex as "sinful" so Jesus can't have any part of that. But then why is called Holy Matrimony? How is it wrong with your spouse? i don't care either way, there are more important issues for people to argue over!

Parts of it are true. Like an historical novel, the author has created a plaid of different strings of story and plot. He put in a lot of stuff that is either unproven or just wrong, however, like the first page note about the "Priory of Scion", for example. There has been series of programs about various aspects of the story on the History Channel this year.
As an aside, Leonardo Da Vinci is largely a figment of the Ford Foundation, in the forties & fifties, when they were helping teachers by providing educational material. In one man the teachers could explain the Renaisance. Think about this for a moment: Leonardo never formed a family; He never worked for an employer very long; his machines did not work when they were built, which was not often; he failed to cast the large horse statue; as an artist he produced a suspiciously small number of works in his entire lifetime (10 or 12); commissioned to paint the "Last Supper " for a religious organisation, instead of solving the wall problems, he layered on some tar and painted over that (it began peeling before he was finished)(and has been restored about seven times since); his most famous work was not delivered to the client, but seized at his death by the king of France, who had provided his room and board (the "Mona Lisa). Chiarascuro was not his invention, is was used by others before and after. Also he did not go far in the art trends of the day, perspective and open landscapes.
It would not bother me if Mary Magdalene and Jesus had a relationship and a child. He still completed his work on earth.
By the way there may have been a Gospel of or about Mary Magdalene that was discarded in the Bible editing around 300 AD.

I think many are just set on the fact that the bible is 100% true. What the DaVinci Code talked about was undermining the bible in saying that Mary was actually married to him. The created controversy was over who is more correct, a centuries old bible that has a high change of having been misread or mis-translated, or a newfound author who has done a ton of research.
What's true is said in the very first page of the book. He will have many facts there. Also what is true is the pentagram information and the beautiful number. I can't remember much else from that book since it was a while ago.

Jesus wasn't married, the Bible specifically states that Jesus was not married or slept with any woman. The deception is subtle it tries to disprove the divinity of Jesus and thus it forces people to doubt him. Jesus is our true example and light and thus the devil tries hard to disprove is divinity and also his very existence. Look, the jews don't even believe in him and many other people, the attack is front and back and all around and we should not take any authority apart from the Bible to be absolute truth unless we test it from the Bible. Some father Jesus would be, to leave a single mother with children in a time like that and go back to heaven to chill.

No, Jesus was sent by God for the purpose of teaching the law in how we should live, and for a sacrifice on the cross.
When they sacrificed lambs before this, the lambs had to be without a spot, they even kept them for 14 days to make sure they were not sick.
A sacrifice had to be without a spot, sin, Jesus had to die without sin to be able to take ours, God did not send Jesus down here to live like a man of this world.
Even in corinthians it states that if we are not already married, God would like us to stay that way and be more in Gods way, but if we have desire, God would rather us get married than create a sin.
Jesus could have had no desire since Jesus Christ had no sin.
This movie was created because the Bible is a large topic, and many people not grounded in their faith, not taking the time to believe in the Bible or read and study it, would be attracted to it, alot of people, huh, henceforth ALOT OF MONEY. Isn't that what its all about.
In the bible it states that many people will come trying to change things and tell us different, but we are not to believe, and it describes where these false prophets will go, and that we should cast them out, (of our lives-and have no part of it), I believe thats what we should do.

It all does matter. First of all, the Da Vinci Code is completely false. There isn't a shred of evidence to support any of it. Dan Brown just wanted to make a few bucks and he did. Jesus could never have married Mary Magdalene because, although being fully human and subject to human temptations, he is also fully God. Trust me when I tell you that when you lead a busy life filled with as much strife as he did while on earth, sex seems to be the last thing on your mind. Besides, Jesus came with the specific mission of teaching, fulfulling prophecy, and dying on the cross to pay the price for our sins so that mankind may be reconciled to God the father. And, yes, Mary Magdalene was a prostitute who repented of her sins and so became a daughter of God.
Mr. M on the Da Vinci Code.

None of it is true. I don't know why people are saying its true. The author never said any of it was true. It was a novel. Novels are fiction. To people that think its real I say , "GET OVER IT! IT WAS A MOVIE!!! ITS NOT TRUE!!" I'm not catholic and I knw that Mary Magdalene was a prostitute.

Sadly I have to admit that..., Dan Brown is a real person. That much is fact. The rest of his material however is a fancy blend of history, rumor, myth and pure Bull Poop.., once mixed together creates a smoke screen that makes him one rich wamma-jammah.
