The only true idols are representations of torture devices and statues of bloody people. Anything else (especially naked people) is wicked.

An Idol could be anything that U put before God. The "false" is refering to the Idols as not being real. there are no true idols, you don't worship the Cross, U worship the Work on the cross. A cross is just a cross without the crucifiction, so there are no true Idols. Don't have an Idol Period. In order words, Don't put anything before God.

A idol can be anything you put before God.. Say you have a car and you love it so instead of using time to go to Church or pray you say God I am going to go wash my car and get it detail I will get back to you later..It Could be Money anything.. If you put it before God it is a Idol.. God is supose to be first in your life no matter what..

idol is a representation of a concept with an object. so there are no true or false idols. there are true-or false concepts.
What it is true to you is what it is true for you.

I think he is referring to an Indian controversy,
well my friend worship what you like,don't preach anything and keep all your beliefs to your self,DIDN'T YOU FIND ANY OTHER SITE TO POST THIS MESSAGE(or may be in the Indian section of yahoo answers).well i believe in that god and am going to believe in it because i believe that belief is from the heart and no idol controversy can replace that, if i can i will visit Amarnath too.

Actually, the phrase is "false gods." As there is only one true God, worshiping anything else (ie, money, fame, sex, drugs) is false. Therefore, a waste of time and effort.
