First of all, there shouldn't be a man on this earth that isn't educated enough to know that a woman at least once a month in a normal situation expects her monthly cycle and she should be off limits.
You tell him that your little red riding hood has come to town and hopefully he get the picture and a laugh at the same time.

The truth is always best. And most periods only last a few days (3-5 at most) so tell him you have your period and can't do it right now - but how's next week for you? Or maybe you can just offer him oral (you giving) - say I can't do that but I can Do This. :)
Besides if you are in a relationship with this man, and you are both mature (which it really doesn't sound like it - sorry) then you have to both know that this does come up every month or so, and there's no reason to be ashamed of it or think that it is nasty.

Tell him your monthly friend came to visit, so he's got to wait a few days. If you don't know him that well you should wait till you feel more comfotable around him. Me, I'll just come out and say it after all its a natural thing. It's not nasty it's nature.
