No the only thing you can catch from animals is you can get AIDS from monkeys anything from dogs and cats your safe or they are safe.

No, Hep C is a strictly human disease. It has only been transmitted EXPERIMENTALLY to chimps. Animals can get liver disease, though. just not this one.

ADDENDUM FOR CJBOYCE: There are a LOT of diseases that can transmitted from animals to humans. These are called zoonoses (zuu-oh-NO-sees). For example, humans can get RABIES from animal bites. Another zoonotics that I work with a lot are Brucella, Q fever and tularemia. Yes, you can diseases from animals. Happens all the time!
