judgement of self and others and comparison leads to not finding contentment. The road is endless. What defines GOOD to you?
do you meet those standards? are you practicing as much as you think you should be? Do you feel you are advancing?
if your advancing, your doin good... so..
dont sweat it...
this will tear you up inside... i can testify to that..
judgement of all things animate and inanimate tends to shape our perception of things.
Its a struggle we all fight our whole lives.
never feel embarrassed... unless you really asked for it...
then humilty is the antidote to concededness.
Those people who judge you can go sit on it and rotate...
they waste themselves..
you advance MUCH faster if you look at the step ahead of you on the stair case..
Just cause i can do 720 aerial cresent kicks doesnt not qualify me for good in my head. If I say im good, you think im cocky, if I say im no good, you think Im lying...
catch 22...
so ...f-ck it... go do some horse stance...
that will showem whos boss..

Having stopped taking Tae Kwon Do 11 years ago, I was only 3 months away from black belt. I retained enough knowledge to hold my own if need be. Back then, I felt like I was extremely good, I have long legs which made it tough for people to get in close. Just remember, there's always someone better!

I feel that I am decent, but will go no further than that simply because I don't want to blow up my ego, or think I am better than I am...want to stay humble....
I have been training in karate for 13, about to be 14 years

Ahhhhhhhh, little grasshopper, we are all students with much to learn. Don't judge yourself by what other people can do. You want to compare yourself to yourself, make progress, try to improve yourself. If you are having trouble learning something, talk to your Sensei, he or she will help you if you need it. We are all different, and learn differently. Don't worry so much. Good luck to you. Mighty Mite, Nikyu

I feel confident that I could take care of a situation and protect myself and my loved ones. It takes a while.
If you don't feel your where you need to be, talk to your instructor. If that doesn't work, look aroud at other Dojo's.
