Thanx for the websites! Yes, I knew science was looking into this. I've read some on the MeMe theory. Kind of like the whole Borg Consciousness thing. Or the Akasha theory, where everyone shares a type of consciousness. Interesting, though not sure if I believe it all. LOL

It's been going on for a while. Almost 100 years ago Emile Durkheim published "The Elementary Forms of the Religious Life."
While the E.O. Wilson work you reference is fairly substantial, the other 2 are, "fluffier" and more speculative.
I would also recommend you look into the work of Stuart Guthrie, who may have the most advanced discussion points on how to approach the subject. (Irony of ironies, Guthrie approaches it as an evolutionary development.)

We believe in God because we want o be part of something bigger, and until we accept that we are not, people will continue to believe in God.

i think they believe in god, because that's what there thought to believe, most people who believe in god is because their parents, or their community teaches them that gos exists, but make a person who wasn't raised that way, it will be very difficult to make him believe in god.

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. Psalm 14:1

Of course, why not? If there is shown to be a genetic component to belief in god, why wouldn't you want to know that?
