I wanted to be an ophthalmologist since I was four years old, when I had my eyes operated on and could suddenly see better. I thought the doctor was a miracle worker, and given how bad I'm told my eyes were then, maybe he was!
As I got older I decided I really didn't want to operate on people's eyes and it's not a childhood dream I really have any desire to go after as an adult. I'm quite happy with my new chosen profession (teaching), though I can still understand why I dreamed of being an eye surgeon as a kid. :)

If you exclude the normal boyhood dream of being a sprots superstar, I really wanted to be an archeologist. Once I found out that it would take 10 years of additional schooling I changed my mind. I then decided I was going to be a game warden so I went to college for recreation resource management (Forestry), and now here I am with 10 years of work experience in retail management and as a training coordinator. Go figure. I still love any info on archeology news. National Geogaphics rocks!

My childhood dream to be a vet when I grow up. Right now I'm 14 and I'm still intersted in being a vet. I love animals and I care so much about them. Because I have 4 dogs of my own.

A lawyer and the first female Supreme Court judge. I didn't even become a lawyer, so had no chance for the latter. I have been a teacher for over 20 years.

I wanted to be a geologist, than an archaeologist, than I wanted to be a Judge. It took me until now ( my 30's) to complete my Masters in Criminology and realize what I wanted to do (Federal Probation Officer). I guess I was a late bloomer.
