Absolutely! The important thing to know about sushi is that it is not only raw fish (though most forms include some sort of seafood). At its most basic, the only common factor in all forms of sushi is sushi rice. Sushi rice is typically a medium grain rice, flavored with rice wine vinegar. After that, what you put with it is up to you (or the sushi chef).
Some examples of different ingredients include raw tuna, cold smoked salmon, shrimp (cooked), octopus (cooked), sweetened egg (cooked) and raw or pickled vegetables. My favorite sushi is eel, which is cooked and the served with a special eel sauce.
There are also several shapes of sushi. The most common are maki in which the ingredients are rolled in rice and seaweed and nigiri where the ingredients are laid on top of a "finger" of rice.
The only real trick with sushi can be finding out which kinds you like and which ones you don't. The only way of finding out is to try them. I would generally recommend going to a sushi bar or a Japanese restaurant that serves sushi for your first experience. The prices may be higher than you might find elsewhere, but the quality will most likely be better.

i fell in love with sushi when i was in hawaii. what makes sushi so great is that no matter what ur tastes are there is a sushu for you. if u like the taste of fish and seafood then there are all types or if like veggies only then there is sushi with just veggies in it. my favorite is the yellow fin tuna sushi. the tuna is raw and it has a nice fishy taste to it.

Yes, it is very good provided you go to a place that has good sushi. It can be expensive, but it is worth it to get good sushi. A bad experience can turn you off from the whole thing!

If you want to try it for the 1st time have it without the fish or have the fish cooked. I had to take baby steps and first try the kind with just rice and avocado, one you get used to the flavor you'll adapt easier to all other kinds of sushi. I love it I think it great

I love sushi, but some people may not like it because it is, after all, raw fish.
If you do want to try it, I would go with some people who like it to a restaurant. They'll encourage you, and even if you end up not liking it, at least you tried it!

I can't bring myself to eat raw fish. I have eaten California Rolls though, but for some reason, it was stuck in my head that it was raw fish, which it ISN'T. But I kept thinking it was, so I was getting grossed out. They were really fishing tasting also, so that was a turn off.

Of course. Start by ordering California roll if you are unsure about the fish.

Yes, I have tried it one time and I did not like it. It was really slimy. Some people may like it but I am not one of them. Good Luck if you try it.
