Yes. I retired from a job and live on a pension. It is not uncommon for a retired person to work in the same field at a different company and get compensated, or to go to school to get more education, but generally retired means not working.

They are only retired from where they had worked. Some go on to other jobs.
Some places of employment only let you work so many years then you are gone.
Then they go home and work their butts off or get another job.Due to the fact that they are use to staying busy it is hard for some to cope

There's technically retired: Still out there working someplace, or looking for work. Frequently looking for "under-the-table" work.
Then there's "matter-of-fact" retired who sit back all day and watch the world go by! (me)

its sad but these days with the cost of everything being really high,,alot of retirees come out of retirement to work part time to supplement their income. when i worked at walmart..the door greeters were retired but also had to work to be able to buy their meds.

Well....from watching how busy retired people make themselves once they have the time... I would say they may have been tired working but then they make themselves tired again by making up for the lost time..... hence "re-tired".....lol....
