If your dog is spayed/neutered you probably have Limited Privelege papers from the UKC. Limited Privelege is open to "mixed breed dogs, purebred dogs of unknown pedigree, and purebred dogs with disqualifying faults as described in the UKC breed standards. The programs open to Limited Privilege dogs are Obedience Trials, Weight Pulls, Agility Trials, Total Junior Program and Dog Sports (including Family Obedience)."
Many mutt-breeders advertise UKC papers hoping to catch suckers this way.

I beleive that the papers the petland gave you may not have been from the AKC but another breed group there are many breed groups including the american mixed breed association which does recognize breeds like the shollie. the American Kennel Club does reconizes many breeds, but the shollie is a designer breed and the AKC does not reconize most or any breed which does not have an established breeding history. I would earge you to look closer at the paper work you received with your new pet. I have purchased a dog from Petland, in Topeka, KS it was a low quality pure breed, I was given AKC paperwork to send to register the dog and recieve a pedigree.

Pet shop "purebreds" are often from puppymills or are breeder "culls" (inferior quality). Never heard of a "Shollie" dog. I think you might've gotten taken by paying $$$ for a mix breed. I searched the AKC site and could not find anything on "shollie" on their web site.

you have given your self quite a few motives to no longer purchase from Petland. Why do you opt to pay $one thousand or greater for a mutt of unknown origins, it rather is merely too youthful and in all probability has severe well being issues, once you may pass to a breeder and get a better canines for roughly $4 hundred. by potential of 'saving' a canines for petland, you're dooming thousands of others who're used for breeding in puppymills. think of that for that one beautiful puppy, the two its mothers and fathers are stored in small cages in all climate, on no account set unfastened of the cages, bred variety the 1st warmth to the final all and sundry heats. The canines at the instant are not given any human touch, workout, grooming, vet care or a appropriate eating regimen. by potential of having a puppy variety any puppy shop, you're helping this. in case you incredibly need to save a existence, pass to your interior of reach Humane Society or city pound. those canines face death widely used if no longer observed in a remember or days. those canines want properties. They fee between $one hundred-$3 hundred. This contains a vet examine, spay or neuter, some photos, and the understanding which you have saved a existence.

AKC doesn't register mixed breeds...you got scammed. This is just another 'designer' dog...I swear what is it with breeders??
So sorry, but I would't recommend buying an dog/puppy from a pet store, I think you got suckered..do research and read-read-read before purchasing a new pet-puppy. I'm sure your dog is cute and will be a good companion with proper training and lots of love :)

As far as I know, none of the new designer breeds are AKC registered. If you really want to know, check their website, as they list all the breeds they recognize.

You got TAKEN TO THE CLEANERS!!!Robbed/rooked/cheated/scammed....There's NO SUCH THING!!! See what you get from being foolish enough to buy a dog at a pet store?
Micro-chipping is NOT a guarentee of a breed.

don't buy pet other than fish from pet stores. they are over priced and some stores keep the dogs in illegal conditions. if there is nothing over the holes on the bottom of the crates, take pictures and show them to the police.
