Man created religion. Every religion says God (not religoin) created man. However religion is way of knowing and understanding God ( its like some theory in science ), the unknown. There is nothing wrong in pondering about the idea of god. It might become true like "big bang theory" some day.
Some people take it personally and advocate their religion, which is really bad. I think religion is an idea and it should be shared with everyone like any other good thought.

Organized religion was created by man and is pretty much the cause of all wars, and most of what is bad in the world.

Religion was created by early man to explain how we came to be and how it is that we seem to be different from other animals (reasoning). Early man knew nothing of DNA and evolution. Unfortunately, religion continues to be the "crux" of many who refuse to learn the real laws of the universe (created by a truly higher intelligence?) governed by mathematics, physics and chemistry.

Man created the religion. We are the ones required by ourselves to live by a clock and by traditions.

I think it was created by man as a psychological crutch to obtain mental fulfillment. The world would be a better place if people didn't take it so seriously.

man created religion to make life easier to live, to understand, but religion is a personal journy that each person takes. Each road is different even if you may see others walking the "same" road.

When the US Supreme court declared "Humanism" as a defined religion, - then you start to understand that religion is a way of thinking about the world, and yourself (and maybe God) and how these element interact with one another.
After some understanding of their relationships, -then a spoken or un-spoken set of "rules of conduct" ensues for the 'adherents'.
