If I could prove without a matter of a doubt, would you become an atheist, or would you still believe in your religion.

Okay, I'm not saying that I can. I clearly said IF. IF IF IF.

Rbmath2000 - I never said CHRISTIANS had to convert, and I'm not saying I'm an atheist either, I'm just asking.

zein_egypt - Yes I would. That's the point.

Court - Will you marry me? Lol.

Apparently, Daniel M, the answer is no. Most religious people could not handle the shock of their reality being altered. So they stubbornly refuse to hear any sort of proof. And, while you cannot prove something does not exist (like god), there is far more empirical evidence that he does not exist than evidence that he does. There incredibly ignorant refusal to see that is why the religious are so frustrating!

And, I have discovered, most atheists, if shown sufficient evidence of the truth of one religion or another, would convert to that religion! How ironic that atheists, who are painted as horrible, evil, satan-possessed blasphemers who are determined to corrupt everyone, are the most rational and open when it comes to religion.

No because proving one religion to be wrong doesn't prove all religions to be wrong. Thus one wouldn't convert to Atheism.

I myself, am a convert. I stopped believing in certain beliefs and religion because they were proven wrong (often by atheists/agnostics although the atheist/agnostic arguments were unconvincing and were eventually proven wrong).

To this day, I find things that I thought were true but are false and I change them. Not because my faith says they are wrong but rather because reason says they are wrong. My faith supports what I know by other means. Where I am not sure between belief A and belief B, I choose what is believed by my religion on Faith. This is not on "blind faith" but rather because having reason, intellect, and other means confer with my religion for other choices including the rational reasons on why I should trust, I trust the religion to be correct here for the choice that I am not sure about.

Let me suggest that you read
G.K. Chesterton's THE EVERLASTING MAN and
Newmans "The Development of Doctrine"

To see why my faith abhors "blind faith" and why we do not pit knowledge, reason, philosophy, science, against faith.
both of which can be found on line.

Yes, of course. but if I can prove that God exists and my religion is the one right religion without a matter of a doubt, you must convert to Islam. Would you accept? The fact of the matter is, I can. Click on my name and read my previous arguments.

If you could prove to me that Atheism is the correct religion, I would kill everyone I hate and maybe some people just for fun, then I would have random sex with strangers, top that off with some crack... and then steal a whole bunch of stuff.

I already found out the religion I was raised in was wrong, but why do you think that my only alternate would have to atheism?
that's like telling me hot dogs are made out of crap so I have to eat a steady diet of bologna only and nothing else

No.. because first of- I don't believe in any Religion.. I believe in God.. God didn't make religion MAN did.. so it would be fairly easy to prove any religion wrong i think..

Religion isn't necessarily about proof....but more about belief....if someone believes I don't think it's easy to change them, even if you say you could prove it to be wrong.

well if you proved my religion wrong i would stop believing my religion. but i would only stop believing in God if you proved there was no God. but its impossible to prove a negative thats why the burden of proof lies with me
