After calling your vet FIRST, and making sure that this would be okay for your dog and there's no blockage from chewing rawhide or anything in his intestines, maybe feed him about half a can of pure pumpkin (NOT PUMPKIN PIE MIX). THis is a good food to "get things moving". A little bit of liquid laxative (like one tablespoon) might work too, but make sure you have a back yard where he can stay for a while with plenty of water because he/she probably won't hold it in the house.

Either he's pooping than cleaning the mess (They learn that from their mothers when they are born) or he's very constipated, you can feed him cooked rice or take him to the vet, Switch foods it might be a problem! If it's not constipation keep an eye on everything he does cause he's probably cleaning his messes up

Could be some kind of intestinal blockage. If he appears to be in pain, is straining to poop or his stomach is hard and painful for him when you touch it, you should take him the the vet. This could potentially kill him.

Worst case scenario, your vet may have to do an X-Ray to determine if there's a blockage in his intestines. My cat just needed this due to vomiting after eating.

Is it a hairy dog? if so you might want to get his hair around his rear end trimmed.

my dog wont go unless he is comfortable. dont push and try to get him back inside quick. also if you have a fenched in yard, let him go free and do his business. do you like when people watch you? (not to be nasty) neither do most animals....
