Some of these other answers may work fine, if not, vodka is well known for the elimination of odors. Rinse with it and no-one else will smell the garlic, or drink it and you will not notice (or care about) the garlic smell. No joke, vodka will get rid of just about any odor anywhere.

Use a stainless steel utensil, like a spoon, and rub your hands with it.
You can also use lemon juice or lemon peel.
Rub your hands on a stainless steel pot under water.
This will work for garlic, onions, and fish odors.

Try lemon juice, coffee beans or grinds, or stainless steel. They even sell stainless steel bars (they look like a bar of soap) in some "finer" kitchen stores, like Williams Sonoma, for getting odors off your hands.

I have heard that if you hold a spoon and run your hands under cold water for a few minuets it will take onion smell away. I've tried it and it works so maybe it will work on garlic too.

Try washing your hands with soap for about 5-10 minutes. Then use some scented hand lotion/cream.

Coffee grounds. If you rub your hands with coffee grounds, the smell will disappear.
There are even some soaps out there that are made for kitchen use and have coffee/coffee grounds in them.

After you wash your hands, try rubbing your hands on a stainless steel bowl or anything stainless steel. I know it sounds crazy, but it does work.

Try rubbing juice from a fresh squeezed lemon on it. Sometimes that helps.
