We got my daughters bedding. light shade & lamp from Toys'r'us but that was about 5 years ago. Catalogues are a good place to try eg Littlewoods or Argos. Many of them offer you a discount on your first order. E bay is a great place to try. As for the decorating why not paint tweenies on the wall. If you can't draw do you have access to overhead projector? That is a great way of enlarging pictures.
I wouldn't spend too much on it though. Give her 12 months and she will be wanting Barbie or something else. maybe you could buy a duvet and just decorate the walls with posters and a border. These are available from http://www.ukwallpaper.co.uk/products/tweenies1442.htm and start at £4.99. They also do stick-a-rounds to decorate the walls with
Hope it helps

Well, if I were you I would let her.....I think its great if children can have the choice in their own rooms.
You might want to run it past her that if she goes off the tweenies before its time to redecorate, she will be stuck with them...
I rememeber my mom saying "Are you sure you will want Disney decor in your room when you entertain your first boyfriend?"
Then she realised what she'd said....

Im not sure where you could purchase them....maybe check domestications.com or brylanehome.com as it seems to be least expensive. Also, remind yourself and your daughter that kids go through phases and maybe something more neutral or versatile may be best for down the road....why pay the money for something they wont even care about in a few months? Good Luck.

Try Bombay kids, Hot Topic, etc... It really depends on what she is into and how old she is. Hell, we found cool stuff between going to Walmart and Target.
