My roommate is muslim, they have to. They have to wash everything before they pray, pray on a special (clean) prayer mat, and face mecca.
I remember either the Koran or the Hadith says that it was a sin to fart in the presence of Muhammad, so if you fart while you pray in Islam, they probably will think that theyll get owned by Allah

It recommended in Islam that one answers the call of nature before beginning the prayer. This is based on the hadith (prophetic report) related from the wife of the Prophet (sall'Allahu alayhi wasalam)

Narrated A'isha (radi'Allahu anha), "I heard the Messenger of Allah say, "No one should pray when the food is served nor when one needs to answer the call of nature"

If one passes wind whilst praying, they must leave the prayer and make ablution and then repeat the prayer, based on the following hadith:

Narrated 'Ali bin Talq (radi'Allahu anhu): Allah's Messenger said, "When any of you passes wind during prayer, he must leave the prayer, perform ablution and repeat the prayer" Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, At-Tirmidhi, An-Nasai and Ibn Majah

The Muslim is also told, if they have doubt over passing wind during prayer then they should not leave the prayer until they hear a sound or smell something. This is based on the following hadith:

Narrated Ibn Abbas (radi'Allahu anhu): Allah's Messenger said, "The devil comes to one of you while he is praying, and blows in his posterior, so he doubts that he has broken his ablution (due to passing wind) but actually he has not. So if anyone experiences this feeling, he should not leave his prayer unless he hears a sound or something." Related by Al- Bazzar. A similar narration is reported in Sahih Al Bukhari and Sahih Muslim on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Zaid.

Actually, yes they do not flatulate during prayer. Contrary to popular belief, suicide bombers do not use explosives, just a lot of prayer and a Bic lighter.
