Religion is the worst thing that ever happened, but Jesus Christ is the best. I'm a Christian, and a born again believer. I know it sounds hypocritical, but Jesus could fill all the voids. The Christian religion didn't die on the cross, Jesus did, and he saved me.

Most of you are right that having a religion is a bad thing but having Jesus as our Saviour is a good thing. Praise Jesus!

Yes, it is the worst thing. All of them. Because of religion, we have had crusades, genocides, suicide bombings, all types of holy war. The concept of god has done more harm to man than the invention of the gun. You do not need a religion to fill the voids. You should use your head. The voids make you think, and those that can't turn to religion. When the cave men could not understand lightning (for example), they made up god, so they could just say "God did it". If you need the voids filled, anyone can do it. I could easily make a myth about how the world works, and it would explain everything, I could just say the creator did it. My creator could by a six headed cat. This would be no more ridiculous than god. Science is the only real explanation, not some cult belief in a fairy tail imaginary friend of the human race that is watching all of us.

The reason the worst people end up being part of the church is because they are the ones that need the message of Jesus the most -----thats why established religions are filled with the worst people -- A whole lot of people trying to wash away guilt for bad things they have done by going to church

Yes, religion is one of the worst things that happened. Jesus is the best!!!

I believe that Jesus came to free us from religions. He wanted to teach us to have a personal relationship with God. Religions do not save you. We will only get saved by the mercy and grace of God. Many religions, even Christians are more interested to follow manmade rules, ways of life than stop thinking what Jesus would want us to follow. It is easier to do the things like they have been done, the change is not easy.

I give you a personal example. I was babtized as a baby, in Europe. I have a Lutheran background. Then I had confirmation when I was 15. Years later one of my young friend couple had an impact on my life. They had been baptized again as adults. They never asked me to do the same what they did, they asked me to seek an answer from the Bible and think what Jesus would like me to do. I was too busy, and too scared of change. I would basicly have to change church...and we only had one in my village...everybody went there, at least at Christmas and Easter_ maybe not every year, or even every other.. weddings and funerals, school endings...

I did not read too much Bible at the time, and I put the thing on the back burner. It was years later when I joined to my non denominational church, that I finally got baptized. There is nowhere in the Bible, as far as I know that you need to be baptized as a baby. You need to believe and have faith first, and then to be baptized. I felt at the time that I was going against everything what my family believed in by getting baptized again. But I knew that this was an issue that nobody else could decide for me. My mother's first question for me was " Why did you get baptized? You have been baptized already. " I told my mother " I know, mother, that you and my father tried to do the right thing for me, and I am thankfull for it. But this is something I have learned from the Bible and I know that Jesus wants me to do. I needed to make this decision for me, not them for me."

My father and mother and sisters..etc. are not regular church goers. They believe in Jesus, but at their own terms. Luckily my family did not reject me for my decision. And that is why I pray for all those people, who keep doing things the way things have been done at their families...and do not seek the truth from Jesus...What I have learned is that we cannot that pick and chose what part of the God's word we believe and follow...it is all true. Go, and find your truth. And all of those, who do not accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior...consider it, because if you clearly show that you are not interested in being with Jesus in eternity, you will not be there. You do not have to be a bad person to miss a gift of eternal life, just ignorant to the teachings of Jesus. And in between now and then, let's live in peace and harmony as sisters and brothers.

Not really,

People blame religious tensions for a lot of thje violence in the world but the truth is that the world would be this messed up with religion or without it. If its not one thing to fight over its always another.

look at politics and world government these days. you can't say all these wars were started over religious beleifs.

you could, if you are liar and thats what you are into.

Yes. Religion clouds the minds of people so they can not think for themselves. It separates people and breeds hate.
I say: believe in yourself and in doing what is right...dont believe in some magic guy living in the sky.........foolishness.

A person is not saved by "religion," but by belief. "We are justified by faith (belief) and not by works (religion) lest any should boast."
