I've recently had new carpet installed and repainted (not in that order) in my bedroom. I used three shades of light, light browns on the walls, and now need to add a splash of color. I keep thinking of a light turquoise, but really would like some more input. Any good ideas?

Turquoise is a cool color. For a bedroom that is a good choice.

Cool colors give you a sense of calm and peacefulness.

What also looks good with brown is a pumpkin color. Its much warmer, this will incite energy and excitement.

It really depends on the mood you want to create with the accent color.

Make sure what ever accent color you choose, use it generously.

The neutral brown needs color to spice up it up. I hope this helps good luck!

Browns and blues are big this year! Find a nice accent pillow with the color of your walls and carpet in it; and then pick out a third color from that to use as accents. Decorators do this all of the time; it's a quick trick for blending just the right color pallet.

One popular color pallet right now is light and dark browns with a sky blue color. If the walls are light brown, do the trim (base board/door frame/etc) in a chololate brown and throw in some sky blue accents like if you can paint your desk, throw pillows and bedding, etc...

Turquoise, or a light blue, are definitely in style this year with brown. I am hoping to do that with one of my rooms! If you're a pink person, pink is also going very well with brown lately, too.

Have fun!

I think the turquoise would be a good choice! I like the look of those colors together.

Blue is the new in for brown....you can also use red...but I don't care for that. I just redid my bathroom with brown, tan, and blue(turquoise) It looks really good, and I have had many compliments on it!

What color are your sheets and blankets? Try to match those with little accents all around the room.
