my sister-in-law purchased tickets for her and her husband to go to the Domenican Republic. The problem is her husband is an alcoholic & mean drunk. I know that the Domenican Republic they drink a lot there. Do I mind my own business and keep quiet about it or do i tell her it would be a mistake to bring him there for vacation??

Have your sister ask the family doctor for antibuse pills to stop the husband from drinking. ( its a capsule, you break it loose and sprinkle this stuff into the alcohol, it will make husband sicker than a dog after he drinks it. She maybe able to get a full prescription of it(30 pills) . When ever he wants her to get him his beer, wine or whatever, have her sprinkle this in his drink. It does not have a flavor to it. ( its called antibuse). have her explain to the DR> that hes a awful person when drinking.

i'm sure she knows he is a mean drunk so what are you goin to accomplish?
take from experience it doesn't matter where an alcoholic is,if he's going to drink he's going to drink.

Keep quiet. People tend to shoot the messenger. If (big if) she asks tell her about alanon. She can only help herself. Not him. He must choose to do it on his own.

No cure for it. It is a Disese,like all others it is treatable only if they want it.

I would tell her so she would be aware of it
