Especially if it's a bit distracting...

Mostly I think it depends on how well you know the person and how likely you are to see them again. If you don't know them and/or you'll never see them again, then they won't have to be embarrassed that you (a stranger) once saw them with a booger hanging out of their nose.

If it's a friend, family member or not-too-delicate co-worker, you should tell them as subtly as possible. When I see someone in this situation, I usually place the back of my index finger on the outside of my nostril that mirrors their offending nostril (so my left if it's their right and vice versa - I've never seen anybody go for their left if I touch my left nostril). It would be thoughtful (and probably appreciated) if you could hand them a tissue and/or a mirror to aid with their spelunking expedition if you have either available.

I switch to other appropriate gestures if the person has something smeared on their face or stuck in their teeth. I do this because I'd want to know if I were in their position.

You tell them they have "dirt" on their nose, not a booger. The general rule is that you DO tell people about problems they can easily fix, like spinach in the teeth or a drooping zipper. You DON'T mention problems that can't be easily addressed, like overweight or stupidity.

Man this is hard bro.........I dunno if you dont know them very well, you might just have to NOT say anything its awkward if its a friend or relative just say BHO = BOOGERS HANGIN OUT I use this code when i go swimming just to be sure.

You could always do the subliminal nose swipe if you really cant handle it once they see you do this, they will quietly think you are telling them to whipe their nose, even if they dont think they have a booger there..............haha this is a good question!

Absolutely!
Just don't be mean about it.
Inform them politely.
Then hand them a Kleenax.
Carry on with your conversation, with no refrences to the giant booger, which has been(hopefully) removed.

=D

YES! But do it tactfully. Say something to the effect of, "Would you like a tissue?" then if they say no.. then insist that they use this tissue.. and if they refuse, you can tell them that they have something hanging out of their nose. And if they ask "what is it?" then you can say, "booger".

I would make a joke of it. Say something like. "you have a bat in your cave." When they ask what that means, just point to your nose. I do this and most people end up laughing about it.

If he wasn't gazing your nostril the total time, i might say that he the two did no longer see it or cared approximately your thoughts sufficient to no longer permit you notice it because of the fact he knew you have been attempting to talk to him. feels like a good guy the two way.

Yes, it is the right thing to do. Can be a little awkward though. Just tell them, you have something on your nostril and that usually will do the trick.
