People who invented the idea couldn't even explain it. So, they finally gave up trying and began executing people who questioned it.

From Lao Tsu (6th century BC):
"One begot Two,
Two begot Three,
And Three begot the ten thousand things"
One begot two - The source of our consciousness expressed as a vibrational force, manifesting as light and sound, sustaining the entire creation. Most religions have symbols for light and sound similar to the candle and the bell of the Christians. Scientists perceive that vibration is at the heart of the physical universe. This source of sound and light is called by different names in scriptures. Some are:
Word - Christianity
Sraosha - Zoroastrianism
Logos - ancient Greeks
Nam or Shabd - Sikhism
Nad or Akash Bani - Hinduism
Sultan-ul-Azkar or Bang-i- llahi - Islam
The Word is the first-born, or the only begotten, of the Creator.
Two begot Three - The Three is the manifestation of the Word in the creation. One interpretation of this is 'God would not send the created beings where He Himself would not go'.
"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us,..." John 1:14
And Three begot the ten thousand things - The Trinity created the planes of existence, down to this physical plane. A conclusion here is that a perfect man, a Saint, has always been on this physical plane, and lives on this earth today. Many people sincerely believe that a Saint has always been with us, and that the Saint is the same as God.

One of the apocryphal stories told in Catholic schools to help students understand that at times there is no understanding is the following involving the riddle of the Trinity.
St. Augustine, Bishop of Hippo and first "Doctor of the Church," was at the oceanside comtemplating the mystery of the Trinity. He broke his musings to watch a little boy dig a hole in the sand, then race back and forth, scooping water from the sea and pouring it into the hole.
Amused, Augustine asked the lad, "What are you doing?"
The child regarded the man soberly, then said, "I am going to pour the whole ocean down that hole."
With a gentle laugh, Augustine crouched beside the child and said, "That is impossible. YOu can't make the ocean go into that hole."
A stubby, sandy little hand found its way to Augustine's knee, and the child looked straight into the great thinker's eyes. "There is more possibility that I can pour the ocean into this hole, than there is you will ever understand and explain the Trinity."
Augustine blinked with astonishment - and looked again where he had just seen and been touched by the child. No one was there.
-------------------------------
Now just for the record, I don't believe the story, and I could care less about the Trinity. I am just tossing a bone on your platter, in case this story helps you out.

The trinity is this: Jesus was the albino son of the albino Augustus. Since they were both albinos people believed them to be ghosts..
The trinity goes like this: The father(Augustus), the son (Jesus), the "Holy Ghost"s". A duality, not a "triune".They were the rulers of the ancient Roman Empire.
Revelation 1:1. Jesus is the prince of the ruler of the world. Augustus was the ruler of the world. Revelation 1:14 Jesus was an albino, so therefore was his father and mother Cleopatra.

There is one God, the Trinity. It is difficult to explain, so i will give you a few analogies, though they are not perfect, they get the point across.
Time can be viewed as a trinity.
There is past, present, and future. These are all time, but the past is not the same as the present, the present is not the same as the future, etc. Though past, present, and future are all time!
Space.
There is height, length, depth. All space, but neither is the same as the other.
Matter.
Solid, liquid, gas. All matter, but neither is the same as the other.
The Trinity is the the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are all one God, but there are three persons.

The Trinity is God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. An easy way to understand it is to look at it this way: I'm a Daughter, I'm a Sister, and I'm a Fiance. I have three different duties and responsibilities. I wouldn't treat my parents the way that I treat my siblings and I definitely wouldn't answer to them the way the I do my siblings. I wouldn't respond and treat my fiance the way that I do my siblings, and it's likewise with God.

Believers will say no way to my answer but here goes
The Father = God the creator of all
The Son = the savior Jesus that sits at the right of the father for the creation of all, that they may be saved and join the jubilee
Holy Sprite = Satan, that sits at the left of the father the granter of good and evil for the Glory of the father

Okay, how's this:
When we die and meet God face to face, we'll see Him as He truly is.
Then, when we are unencumbered by the limitations of human understanding and intellect, this whole Trinity thing will be made perfectly clear.
Makes sense to me!

God is in three persons - God the Father - the Almighty, God the Son - Jesus - who was sent in the form of man to live as we live, to be exposed to the same temptations and situations we are, but who lived without sin. And God the Holy Spirit - the Comforter who was left after Jesus' return to His father in heaven, as a solace for us. He guides, leads and advises us if we will only listen. The same is with us - we are three in one - we are a spirit (the real us), we possess a soul (emotions, etc.) and we live in a body.(the physical part - the last to be destroyed or die) Hope this helps.

Let's focus on the Son.
Joh 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
God uses terms that we understand. To show how great his love for us is, he gave His only begotten Son. Which in reality was God with us.
For example God used the term husband to show His love for Israel.
Isa 54:5 For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called.
Those who worshiped other gods, to God, went and played the harlot.
I also like to use my sister as an example. She's a daughter, sister, wife, mother, woman, and grandmother. She is all these things yet one person.
So is God many things yet one entity.
