You can go to Edmunds.com and look at total quality and total cost of ownership... also look at jdedwards.com's ratings... Overall, Fords have had a lot of quality issues over the years, but they are getting better with their newer models. They also don't hold their value, which means you might be able to get a good deal.

They once thought about replacing the mustang with the probe design. Thank god they didn't. If you have the v-6 2.5 motor in it,it's really the Mazda MX-6 Same chassis except the body and interior. So if you have the 2.5 motor it is good. For all those numbnuts who says Ford sucks, they don't really know much because the ford probe is really a mazda. A japanese car. If you say ford sucks then mazda sucks. All cars suck after 6 years or more I doesn't matter what it is. I work in the automotive field and I know.

The car wasn't too bad, but you probably could find a lot better out there. The Probe actually shares a lot of its design and some mechanics with the Mazda MX-6. I would suggest the MX-6 over the Probe. Mazda seemed to be able to put the car together better than Ford could, and they used some higher quality parts.

"Proud" Ford Probe GT ex owner here... My first car ever hehehe
It will last you till 100,000 :(
I liked that car because it was my first car and yes it goes fast but maintenance sucks so does transmission.
I had that car for 2 years than sold it to my friend and she was smart enough to sell it right before her transmission died.
I would say NO don't buy it(may my Probe rest in piece).

The model is long out of production. It was actually a Japanese car manufactured for Ford. It was less-than-average in performance and quality. Unless the one you're looking at has HONEST low mileage - under 80,000 - and has been meticulously maintained, I suggest you look elsewhere. You're just buying someone else's problems.

it does not matter if it is Ford or GM cars at the end they are all made in the States it means bullshit performance and low quality interior materials and low safety too.
