You're making an empirical assumption that we are "prisoners" and no example of how or why.

I counter that we are freed from most instinctual mistakes by our intellect. That God wanted to express the love embued in him through our creation in his image.

That's because God's definintion of Intellect would differ from man's definition of intellect. We are God's ultimate creation because we can think for ourselves. We are self-aware, meaning that we know we are alive and we value the gift of life. We are also able to draw conclusions and we can reason, unlike any other creature out there. All this stuff, plus the knowledge of God makes us more intelligent then anything else God has created.

Our intelligence should be used to glorify God nothing else...as with anything we do.

We must learn not to depend solely on our minds or else we will be slaves to our mind.

True freedom is achieved by surrendering ourselves to God
