i had this problem to! I bought a pregnancy test for a pound which was positive but the doctors said theirs came back negative. i had one done at chemist which came back positive then the doc still said i wasnt after they did another! i then did another that had a very faint blue line. eventually i had blood done and the doctors negative result now answers me back refuses to doing anything and also is the most beautiful little human being ever!! i learnt that if a line says your preganat it cant lie there is some hormone there to detect you are. if a test says your not pregnant the chances are the hormaoone is not that strong yet. a pregnancy test cant say your pregnant if your not!!! go and get blood done at the hospital they tell you there and then. good luck

Hey Sweetcheeks, I done the same thing and was actually on the pill!! I don't know if you want to be pregnant or not, But I need to say that I am 37 weeks right now!!! Anyway about your question, You have to have a hormone that is HGC to make a test positive. So give it a week or two and take one more. Better yet, go to the E.R. and get a blood test, Those Are Way More Accurate than Urine Tests!!
If you are trying to get pregnant, Good Luck!!!!

I was told by my obgyn that it is impossible to get a false positive. Pregnancy tests detect the hcg hormone which is only present during pregnancy. If you got a positive no matter how faint the line, you are pregnant. Wait another few days & retest with your first morning urine or have the Doc do a blood test. Congratulations!

You probably pregnant, but just. The hormone or chemical in your urine that the tests are looking for is probably there in extremely small amounts. Keep checking everyday and soon it should be obviously positive. You can try a different brand that might be more accurate. Ask the pharmacist or call your doctor's office for a recommendation.

it's not all that uncommon to have low hcg levels one lady i knew didn't test positive at all but was pregnant. i've been told the same even if the line is fairly faint it's still a positive good luck and if the doctor still says it's negative ask for a scan.

With my second son the line on the test was so faint you could barely make it out. He is 5 now and I definetely was pregnant. It also sounds as if you have a rubbish doc. Any positive line means you are pregnant.

You may have miscarried. A test will say positive for up to 2 weeks after a miscarriage. A blood test would be more conclusive. HCG levels continue to rise if you're pregnant.
Hope that helps.
