You have 2 choices.
I think you know what they are, don't you.
Seriously, I don't know, I don't have a fear of flying, I am more worried about driving down the freeway with some of these crazy drivers than I am about flying!
The last time I went flying, I was looking out, and taking pictures through the windows when ever I could!
If you are right with the Lord, than it doesn't matter how or when you die..does it?

Visit your nearest aviation or aeronautics museum, or airport observation deck. Get into plane-spotting. Often you'll strike up conversations with others there who really dig flying, and the ease and passion they use in talking about it will help you feel more comfortable. Of course you could check the statistics--it's safer to fly than to walk or drive down most city streets! Start to learn about flying, why such a heavy metal tube with wings actually goes up in the air, the safety equipment, the experience. Take a short flight first, and build up to longer flights. You can do it!!!

Initially, if it is serious, get an RX for 5 mg. Xanex from your Dr. and take it just before you get on the plane. However, as you get used to flying your stress will lessen, so fly as much as you can. At this point I realize that the plane is built to take terrific amounts of turbulence, and that in a plane you are statistically MUCH safer than you are in a car. The way I figure it, when its my time to go, I will. Best not to anticipate or worry about it. Experienced pilots know what they're doing, and they're in control, not me.

your chances of having a plane problem that causes any harm is far less than the danger you put yourself into driving. flying is one of the safest modes of transportation, it just seems worse because so many people are on one plane, but way more people die in car crashes than aiplane crashes

make yourself some pot brownies for the flight, drink a stiff cocktail and join the mile high club. I am sure any visibly single man on the plane will be willing to join if you ask him.
