I love mutts, you can never go wrong with a mutt. The healthiest type of dog by far! Big dogs, indoor mostly.
Purebred wise, Golden Retriever. The #1 choice of purebred dog among Veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians. That definitely says something about the breed!! I have a nine year old Golden, and he is the best behaved dog i have ever met. I'm convinced it's his breed. Amazing with kids, cats, strangers, training, car rides, everything.
Some people might say Labs, but, unfortunately, the majority of dog bites in the united states are from laborador retrievers. Thats nothing against the breed, its due to irresponsible breeders and owners.

Boxers. Mine is the sweetest, gentlest, most laid back dog I've ever owned. The only time she barks is when she's protecting me and the kids. She is very smart and was very easy to train. She's very lovey, gives hugs, ect. She is a very pretty dog and I get lots of compliments on her. I think she may have ruined me for all other breeds. She is an indoor dog. I guess if I am going to have a pet I want it in the house. She gets lots of outside time but would think the world was coming to an end if I left her out at night.

I love all dogs but am partial to German Shepard's. My family had a great Shepard when I was a kid. I still miss that dog. Indoors, Dogs are pack animals and do best when living indoors with their pack, the family.

Big ones...outdoor...in particular, German Shepherds. They're beautiful, smart and will protect you. I grew up with German Shepherds and they are the absolute best dogs in the world. However, the disposition toward hip dysplasia is not good. And the dogs really suffer when they get older and the hip dysplasia kicks in. We had to put down our most favorite Shepherd when he got older because he was suffering so badly with his hips.

Labs are by far one of the top dogs. They are the most popular in the US. They make great companions, they are easy to train, good with kids and all around happy and friendly dogs. Who wouldn't like them? Plus, they are gorgeous dogs.

I like German Bred Rottweiler's because of the fact there a good breed. And I hate it when people say that there mean dogs, they can be loyal to thier master and family but There highly protective of them. But Other then that thier friendly as can.

my favorite dog would have to be a mixed one. German shephard/Lab mix. That's what I have now, two females. They are very playful, great with my kids, well behaved, and not too big, but not too small either. Also, they are very protective of my family as well.

im partial towards mixed breeds (medium to large). not fond of little dogs but theyre okay for someone else. purebreds? absolute favorite it the Great Dane. they are such wonderful dogs. i think i also like them more because im tall and its easier for me to reach down to pet them (that sounds weird). second favorite is the border collie, they are (in my opinion) the smartest dog there is. very very fast and super smart. will follow any command and are really loyal.
