You are missing the point amigo. Bodies (areas) of water have names to generally place them and describe them. What are the exact boundaries for the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Sea, the Sargasso Sea, Nantucket Sound, Straight of Gibraltar, the Gulf of Maine, Long Island Sound, the Bay of Fundy, Baie Des Chaleurs? Get the point?

There are only seven seas (seas and oceans). The English Channel is IN the Atlantic Ocean.

Here's a serious answer -- Off Cornwall, England near Lizard Point or but it's really the other way around, that's were the Channel ends and the ocean begins.
