Yes...my friend had it. She wanted to be pregnant so bad that she started to have morning sickness, missed periods, hair loss, cravings, the works. When she went to the Dr. he took blood and it was neg, so yes you can mentally trick your body into thinking it is pregnant.

It also happens to women who don't want to be pregnant and get scared after having unprotected sex. It happens more in teens then adults, they get so scared and stressed they start showing sings of pregnancy.

The mind is a very powerful influence on the body.

It's called PSEUDOCYESIS.

It's a psychological condition causing a woman to believe she is pregnant. The woman may have conditions that mimic pregnancy.

According to the U.S. NIH CRISP thesaurus, false pregnancy is the absence of menses accompanied by other signs of pregnancy without conception, and may be due to psychogenic factors, abdominal neoplasia, or a hormonal disorder.

It may be accompanied by an enlarged uterus, cessation of menstrual periods, morning sickness, and lactation. f

I know someone who went through this. Because she did, when she did get pregnant, it was considered a "risky pregnancy" -- she actually stopped having periods, her tummy got big (I don't know what happened on the inside), morning sickness and all of it. There's a name for it but I can't remember what it is. Your mind can do a lot to you.

it is a symptom of a rare mental disorder, usually with women that want to have children so eagerly (and in most cases thay experience difficulties in concieving) so they have all the symptoms of pregnancy- dizzyness, feeling of "heavy" stomach, morning sickness etc.

That mostly applies for men... because they don't actually get preganant but sharing burden with the spouse!

Not as an official diagnosis, but delusional people can think that they are pregnant.

I'm no medical expert but I have known girls who get it in their heads that they are pregant and haven't gotten their periods for months!!!!!
